According to the perspective advanced among others by Stanley Cavell and Aldo Giorgio Gargani, Wittgenstein presented philosophy as a formidable and articulated reflection on the critique and reconstruction of culture at the crossroads of modernism. This results in an anti-intellectualistic approach aimed at the revitalization of the ways we understand and practice philosophy. Philosophy is taken as a form of culture and a way of living rather than as a specialized discipline. The conference aims to elaborate on the pivotal themes of this interpretative line revolving around the key notions of forms of life, backgrounds, normativity and naturality, and investigate the contrast between, on the one hand, the foundation and justification of human practices and, on the other, their clarification and transformation. Conference languages will be English and Italian. No registration needed.
